Women’s, coed sailing head to nationals

For the third straight year, the coed and women’s sailing teams both qualified for the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association National Championships. The women’s team will travel to Annapolis, Maryland, this Sunday, with the coed team competing June 3 in the championships co-hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy and St. Mary’s College.

Club cricket team continues two-century Dartmouth tradition

Dartmouth’s roots in American cricket tradition extend back to the late 1700s, when one of the earliest recorded games of cricket in the U.S. was believed to be played on the Green. Since then, faculty and students have routinely gathered for casual matches, forming an informal group in the 1990s. In the past couple of years, the Dartmouth College Cricket Club has enjoyed a considerable amount of growth and recognition.

Defense strong in Green-White football scrimmage

The football team closed its 12 spring practices with the Green-White scrimmage on Saturday at Memorial Field. An opportunity to evaluate the team’s readiness for the upcoming fall season, the low-scoring game displayed the strength of the team’s defense.

Tennis teams see mixed results in final Ivy matches vs. Harvard

The men’s and women’s tennis teams wrapped up their seasons this weekend with matches against Harvard University. The No. 42 men fell 4-1 on the road against the No. 33 Crimson and finished a historic season with its most League wins since 1997. The women won at home in a dramatic 4-3 win against No. 53 Harvard to cap the season.

Dartmouth runners head to Boston Marathon

For many, the Boston Marathon represents the pinnacle of personal and athletic achievement. The race starts in Hopkinton, Mass., the course winding through Wellesley, up Heartbreak Hill and across the Boston finish line. On Monday, at least seven Dartmouth students -— Isabel Caldwell ’14, Erik Fagerstrom ’14, Oscar Friedman ’16, Annie Hart ’14, Catherine Meyer ’14, C.J. Pierce ’14 and David Sinclair ’14 — will be among the thousands of runners who will participate in this year’s edition, one year after the tragic bombings that led to three deaths and hundreds of injuries in 2013.

Women’s lacrosse falls to Penn 10-6 on senior day

After the women’s lacrosse team fell to the University of Pennsylvania 10-6 in a rematch of last year’s Ivy League tournament championship game, both players and coach had the team’s character in mind. With this loss, the Big Green drops to 5-6 on the season and 2-3 in Ivy play.
