Review: ‘Boston Calling’ Music Festival lives up to the hype

Going to a music festival is always an exciting experience to look forward to, but I have to admit I wasn’t expecting too much from Boston Calling. In the wake of Dartmouth’s Green Key, I felt I had my share of concerts for the term and was preemptively annoyed with the loud and obnoxious drunk people I would inevitably be surrounded or suffocated by at the concert venue. In short, going to Boston Calling felt more like a poorly-timed task that I had to complete rather than an exciting weekend away from campus.

Dartmouth students recently awarded national scholarships

Three undergraduates were recently recognized by national scholarship organizations for contributions within their fields of interest, adding to a list of over a dozen Dartmouth students who have been awarded national fellowships and scholarships this year. The D Sports Awards 2018-19: Athletes of the Year

College announces potential sites for new biomass heating plant

At an open forum in Filene Auditorium yesterday evening, the College proposed three potential locations for a new campus biomass heating facility: the south end of the Hanover Country Club’s golf course, the hill behind the Dewey parking lot and an area of College property two miles south of campus along Route 120.

Green Key weekend sees few arrests

Four students were arrested during this year’s Green Key weekend — a decrease from last year’s 11 arrests and 2017’s 10 arrests, according to Hanover Police lieutenant Scott Rathburn.

College denied claims made by expelled student in lawsuit

Amid a nationwide increase in cases challenging results of college-led sexual misconduct investigations, last month, the College responded to the most recent case challenging its own disciplinary process. On April 30, the College filed its response to a lawsuit alleging that it led an “unfair” and biased investigation resulting in the wrongful expulsion of a male student accused of sexual assault. Dartmouth has denied the claims put forth in the complaint and has demanded a trial by jury “on all claims so triable.”
