What does Dean of the College Charlotte Johnson have in common with Angelina's Right Leg, Paul Ryan Gosling or Kim Kierkegaardashian? Well, thanks to the mysterious folks behind the Twitter account @DMouthsJohnson, Johnson may well be on her way to becoming the next celebrity online personality — whether she had ever planned to or not.

Late Night Collis has its own unique culture: there are the people that come at exactly 9:30 p.m. only to be sorely disappointed by the fact that LNC doesn't open until 9:35 p.m., the people who inhale two servings worth of pasta in sample cups while trying to decide what they want, even the people who just fill a large cup with chicken fingers and douse it with ranch dressing.

Greetings, Class of 2016! As you get settled in and start zipping around from Orientation activity to activity, you will surely work up your appetite and will eventually need to eat. And soon enough, you will find that you have exhausted you on-campus dining options.

One of the best ways to learn about Dartmouth and how to succeed here is from the students who were in your shoes not too long ago —upperclassmen. Upperclassmen can be great resources to offer insight and practical advice about how to do Dartmouth right, or at least how to make your transition to college a little easier.

• As soon as you get in your room, open all the windows, prop the door open, set up a fan if you have one. With all the in-and-out and up-and-down the stairs, it’s about to get real hot up in here —especially if you have multiple people moving into the same room at once. Maybe put on some music while you’re at it.

It was too wet to play
So we sat in the house
All that cold, cold, wet day."

First and foremost, it's not a barbecue without the meat. Sorry, vegetarians, we’ll save a few inches in the corner of the grill for your veggie burgers, but we won’t be happy about it. Nicola Zimmer ’14 recommends diversifying with sweet Italian sausages, a delicious, easy-to-grill alternative that adds a little international flair to your Hanover barbecue party. For Freddie Fletcher ’14, it's great to try something new, but if you’re sticking with the classic, you’ve got to do it right. He recommends handmade patties that are 70 percent ground beef and 30 percent ground pork and promises you’ll “never taste a more juicy burger!”

Ingredients can seem incredibly expensive when you’re using your own money, and sometimes it seems more logical to admit defeat and grab a sandwich at KAF instead of driving to the Co-op. But whether you’re committed to making a simple pasta dish or a five-course meal, it can be worthwhile to call a meal your own. And the next time you’re unwilling to drop $14 on a ’53 Commons dinner, check out one of the two off-campus friendly recipes provided by Hoffman and Sabrina Stewart ’14!

Several fraternities on campus have fuzzy new additions to their memberships, and there's no better time to introduce you to these four-legged friends than during the summer, when students and puppies alike are looking to relax in the Hanover sunshine.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Class of 2014, it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Sophomore summer is officially underway. Whether you’re like me — taking astro, classics and developmental psychology — or slumming it in orgo, we’ve all been promised that this term, these 10 weeks, are different. Best term ever.

Although I myself am not bounding eagerly into the workplace this summer, ready to photocopy, make coffees and endlessly hope someone throws a scrap of something interesting to do my way (okay, so maybe only British internships are like that...) I too did my fair share of internships whilst I was an undergrad. Owing to the fact that I only settled into what one may tentatively call a "career path" fairly late in the day, I have quite a wide variety of experiences — and working environments — under my belt. From public relations (suit-and-heels every day) to a fashion magazine (something fabulous-and-original every day) to an academic publishing house (something fairly-casual-but-as-though-I've-made-an-effort-and-definitely-no-jeans every day), I've pretty much covered the spectrum, sartorially speaking.

The store was named Bean's because its founder, Pauline Johnson, didn’t want her father’s name to die out with his four daughters. When he became ill, she began the store and sent him a picture of the front with his family name boldly displayed.
