Six Best Places to Cool Off On Campus

By Joseph Kind, The Dartmouth Staff | 7/1/14 4:00am

1. The Orozco room

Although I remember this room being a little warmer than I like, it's apparently gotten better over the past months. Bring down an iced tea from KAF and you're set to study!

2. FoCo

FoCo is always the perfect temperature. A great air-conditioned destination gets even cooler with a cold beverage and/or a refreshing scoop of ice cream!

3. Novack

Not only does it offer a quick food source as well as a newly renovated seating area, Novack also offers one of the coolest spots in the library, if not in all of campus. The outdoor seating is a decent option as well; that strange extension of building finally comes in good use as a source of constant shade during these sunny days.

4. Fairchild

The air in Fairchild circulates very well; some of my coolest classes have been in there. Kresge Library is another prime study spot on campus. For those who have never been, Kresge and Fairchild are worth the visit!

5. Kemeny/Haldeman

As one of the newest and nicest classroom buildings on campus, Haldeman and Kemeny certainly deserve a shout out in this list. Lots of great spaces can be found in here, including the round study room at the very end of Kemeny on the first floor.

6. Alumni Gym

Alumni Gym is not one of the newer buildings on campus, but its offerings to cool down deserve your attention. The showers and basketball courts are great spaces to catch a breath and relax in the constant AC, especially on days when it’s just too hot to run outside.
