All Put Together: Winter Boots
Winter is probably the only term where practicality trumps fashion. And from what it looks like, this one is going to be particularly long and cold. But don’t worry, there are still some great finds that will help you survive the term.
Winter boots are rarely ever cute, but they definitely are essential. When it comes to winter gear, I would suggest splurging a little because you’re going to be using them all term long.
For the winter, I would recommend trying to find boots that can handle ice, slush and snow. These waterproof boots from Timberland are great for unexpected winter weather and their soles have stellar traction.
Rain boots are pretty common at Dartmouth because they’re so functional and perfect for freezing rain. If you’re not too excited about wearing bright colored Hunters, here are a couple of pairs that you might like:
This pair by Sloosh Italy’s is for people who aren’t too keen on rain boots. You can literally wear it with almost anything and and as a bonus, the pair looks just like your traditional leather boots.
These boots by Sperry Topsider look like a leather ankle boot, and the best part is that you can use them for almost every term.
Another important factor is obviously warmth. 17s, there will be days when the sidewalks are clear of ice and snow — at least I hope so — but it still will be cold. The lining in Børn’s ‘Shea’ boots will keep your feet warm for those long walks from East Wheelock to the Life Sciences Center.
