In the slew of recent popular and viral Tumblrs comes an unlikely sensation,"Texts from Hillary," a collection of memes based on photos of power-suited Hillary Clinton texting on her cell phone. The humor of the Tumblr is grounded in a clever juxtaposition of stately and serious images of Clinton and political figures with chatspeak-heavy LOLs, ROFLs and winky faces. In one post, Ryan Gosling is seen saying his symbolic, "Hey girl..." with Clinton responding, "...it's Madame Secretary." In another, we see President Barack Obama on the couch texting, "Hey Hil Watchu Doin" with the Secretary of State curtly texting, "running the world." "Hillaryous," to say the least.
The creators of the Tumblr struck gold when Clinton caught wind of the meme and submitted her own rendition. Interestingly, the creators decided to stop the Tumblr, remarking, "As far as memes go it has gone as far as it can go. Is it really possible to top a submission from the secretary herself?"
