The Dartmouth women's hockey team had a very strong showing, as Big Green players merited four of the 14 total selections, the second-most among Ivy teams, bested only by Cornell University's five honorees.

All of the four Dartmouth selections were named second team All-Ivy. Among the selections were forwards Kelly Foley '12 and Reagan Fischer '12, defenseman Sasha Nanji '13 and goaltender Lindsay Holdcroft '14. Nanji was named honorable mention All-Ivy last season.

Both Foley and Fischer served as captains for the Big Green, whose season just ended this past week after an ECAC tournament loss to St. Lawrence University. Foley had 34 points in her senior season, including her 100th career point for the Big Green. Fischer also had a very productive season, scoring 12 goals and totaling 31 points this year.

Nanji had a breakout season in her junior year. As a defenseman, she recorded 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists. Holdcroft made the team for her impressive .926 save percentage.

On the men's side, two Big Green athletes were honored, as defenseman Connor Goggin '12 was named to the second team and forward Doug Jones '12 earned an honorable mention accolade. Jones is tied for the most points on the Big Green with 23.

The All-Ivy teams for women's swimming were announced after the Ivy League Women's Swimming and Diving Championships concluded on Saturday. First team honors were given to the winners of individual events while the runners-up of each event were named to the second team.

Meredith Sweeney '14 was the sole representative for the Big Green on the All-Ivy teams, as the sophomore made the second team after her strong performance in the 200-yard backstroke. Her time of 1:59.42 was second only to Harvard's Meghan Leddy.

After a third-place finish at the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships, the women's track team was represented well on the league's All-Ivy squad. Just as in swimming, individual event winners were given first team honors while second place finishers were given second team honors.

Representing Dartmouth on the first team were Janae Dunchack '14 and Abbey D'Agostino '14. D'Agostino won the mile run with a time of 4:46.81 and was also awarded second team All-Ivy for her second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Dunchak claimed first place in the pentathlon for the second year in a row with a total of 3,733 points.

Three Big Green athletes made second team All-Ivy in addition to D'Agostino. Priscilla Trojano '12 received honors for her second-place finish behind Dunchack in the pentathlon. Trojano won the event in 2010 and was runner-up last year behind Dunchack. Alexi Pappas '12 received second team honors in the 3,000-meter run with a second-place time of 9:23.77. Pappas enjoyed a breakout season in which she broke the Dartmouth record in the 3,000-meter run. D'Agostino has since surpassed Pappas' time.

Emmaline Berg '13 made second team All-Ivy with her performance in the shot put. Berg's throw of 46'10" bested all but Cornell University's Victoria Imbesi. Berg acknowledged the importance and pride that goes into winning such an honor not just for herself but for her team as well. The Big Green almost doubled its point total from last year's Heps, jumping from sixth to third in the standings.

"[All-Ivy honors] is a chance to show the Ivy League what we're made of," Berg said. "It means a lot to me personally as well."

Berg underwent reconstructive knee surgery last year, causing her to miss the entire season. Her runner-up finish represented the culmination of Berg's comeback.

"You work really hard in physical therapy and the preseason, and it is amazing to receive an honor that shows how the effort has paid off," Berg said.

John Bleday '14 was the sole member of the Dartmouth men's track team to garner recognition, being named to the first team. Bleday took first place in the 3,000-meter run after using a dramatic last-lap kick to defeat eight-time Ivy League champion Donn Cabral and Ivy League record-holder Joe Stilin, both from Princeton University.

"I didn't expect to receive this honor as only a sophomore," Bleday said. "I'm really excited looking forward and can't wait to compete for more."

This was Bleday's first selection to an All-Ivy team. Bleday was selected to the academic All-Ivy team this past fall for cross country. The sophomore will compete this weekend in the mile at the Last Chance Meet hosted by Columbia University. Bleday is looking to become the second Dartmouth runner to break 4:00 in the mile, while the women's distance medley relay team will also race in New York to try to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the event.
