A Dartmouth College employee called Hanover Police on Friday to report a roll of burning toilet paper found on Tuck Drive. Police arrived to find the roll completely extinguished and no suspicious activity at or near the scene.
October 25, 1:33 a.m.
Webster Avenue
A female Dartmouth student called Hanover Police claiming the male occupants of a dark-colored Jeep threw a full can of beer at her as she was walking past Alpha Chi Alpha fraternity early Saturday morning. The subjects in the car also yelled obscene and derogatory slurs at the student, according to the report. The female, who reported that the individuals all appeared intoxicated, gave police a partial listing of a Vermont plate. Despite a search of the Hanover area that night, police could not locate the vehicle or any of its occupants.
October 25, 12:50 p.m.
West Wheelock Street
Police responded to a call claiming that a biker appeared to have been struck by a motor vehicle on the New Hampshire side of the Route 4 bridge. Additional reports stated the cyclist picked up his bike and ran up Wheelock Street. After further investigation, police resolved that the subject, in fact, had not been struck by a car. Rather, the cyclist had looked unsteady riding across the bridge and fell off his bike, proceeding to run up the hill. Police could not locate the biker.
October 26, 3:16 a.m.
Rope Ferry Road
Dartmouth Safety and Security contacted Hanover Police after receiving a call from a female in Texas who warned officers of a possible suicide attempt involving a Dartmouth student. The caller had been e-dating someone who claimed to be a male Dartmouth student, she said. She recently decided to cut off the relationship, prompting threats of suicide from the student, who was "trying to get back at her and make her life miserable," according to the report. Police determined on Sunday morning that the suicidal person who claimed to be male was actually a female Dartmouth student. Officers made no arrests and did not investigate why the student had posed online as a male.

South Main Street
Hanover Police received a call claiming a suspicious person was walking around in downtown Hanover early Sunday morning. Officers responded to find the person in question was actually a newspaper deliverer.
October 27, 4:36 p.m.
Corner of Main Street and Wheelock Street
A female reported to Hanover Police that a male Dartmouth student had attempted to steal a large McCain-Palin campaign sign on Monday afternoon. The student, after grabbing the sign and running, was chased and eventually caught by the sign's owner and agreed to return it. Police were unable to determine the identity of the male subject.
October 30, 12:21 a.m.
East Wheelock Street
Hanover Police received a report of a suspicious-looking male carrying what appeared to be an airsoft pellet handgun early Thursday morning. The caller reported that the subject was about six feet tall and 200 pounds, wearing baggy black jeans and a large hooded sweatshirt. First sighted walking past Alumni Gym, the subject could not be located by police. Officers hypothesized that the suspicious male may have been on his way to a costume party at Alpha Delta fraternity.
October 30, 3:17 a.m.
North Main Street
Hanover Police arrested a member of the Class of 2011 on eight separate charges involving drunken driving early Thursday morning. Officers began pursuing the vehicle as it was driving down Webster Avenue. The student was driving at such a high speed that he could barely stop the car and almost struck two pedestrians crossing the road. Proceeding up North Main Street, the vehicle turned onto Wentworth Street in the opposite direction of traffic and crossed over College Street. The pursuit ended after the subject drove the car up the sidewalk toward the Fayerweather dorms and stopped on Observatory Lane. The student, who was alone in the car, did not injure anyone or damage any property.
