To the Editor:
Abigail Drachman-Jones's column "My Idea of Paradise" (The Dartmouth, Jan. 8) would have been a nice pleasant piece about vacation except for the essential premise that one needs to be convinced that a house in the Caribbean is a bad thing. I sure don't. It's ridiculous that the author would try and set it up as though it might be a bad thing to have to go to your house in the Caribbean and not get to go to a fine hotel. What about the 95 percent of Americans who can't go to the Caribbean for winter break at all? It seems the writer fails to grasp the fact that not everyone's wealthy and her ignorance of this offends me.
