The Dartmouth women's tennis team will host the Dartmouth Invitational, beginning today at 8 a.m. at the Boss Tennis Center.
The Big Green hosts Syracuse, Temple, and Boston College. The Invitational will be a flighted competition. This format means that each team enters several singles players and doubles teams into different levels of competition, and these entries compete for individual championships within their determined levels.
Dartmouth has reason to be optimistic about its chances. The Big Green won two of its three head-to-head matches last weekend at the ECAC Championships. In fact, one of Dartmouth's wins was a 6-1 blowout of Syracuse.
"I think that we should do pretty well," co-captain Carly Bashleben '02 said. "We played Syracuse last weekend and won, and during the Harvard Invitational two weekends ago we played quite a few girls from BC and performed well. We are excited to play the second Dartmouth Invitational in front of our home crowd, especially on Homecoming weekend."
