The Student Response Task Force plans to release its report to the Board of Trustees and the Dartmouth community by the end of this week or early next week, according to the Mary Liscinsky, special assistant to the dean of the College.
The Board of Trustees are expected to discuss the report -- a compilation of student opinion on the controversial steering committee recommendations -- when visiting Hanover April 13-15. Dean of the College James Larimore said the Task Force wanted to give the Trustees "as much time as possible" to read the report before their meeting.
However, he added, "it is unclear whether the Trustees will issue a statement right after their meeting" about the report or the recommendations.
The report, which has already been completed and is being printed right now, comprises of seven sections which deal with each of the seven recommendations of the steering committee report. An additional section of the Task Force report deals with topics which students felt had been omitted by the steering committee.
Liscinsky declined to comment on the actual contents of the report until it has been publicly released, although she said the Task Force only compiled student responses and did not express their own opinions, adding that she thinks the report "reflects the breakdown of conversation that was heard on campus."
Larimore reiterated Liscinsky's comment.
"We tried to be as faithful as we could be in describing the range of student input," he said. "Most of the recommendations give an insight into how much interest there is in making improvements."
The report will include 48 proposals submitted by student organizations and individuals. The report also incorporates student input from the fireside chats, and over 200 messages that the Task Force received via their BlitzMail account and website.
Lisckinsy informed The Dartmouth that every student will have access to the 400 page report, which will be placed at certain key locations across campus.
