Trio to dance at Moore

Surreal creatures slither and slink across the stage in the enchanting show featuring Mummenschanz -- the famed Swiss mask and mime troupe, who, with an array of props, mystical costumes and plenty of humor has brought audiences to their feet throughout the world.

Retiring following this tour, Mummenschanz has delighted audiences with its fascinating and whimsical creations -- a giant slinky inches across the stage, a flabby blob gives an awkward little jump, two humanoid figures express their feelings through the toilet paper rolls that comprise their heads.

With over 30 years of experience on the stage, Mummenschanz now features a program that is sure to delight both young and old.

The New York Times says Mummenschanz is "for children who think they are adults and for adults who still believe they are children at heart."

Yet beneath the fun is a deeper level of meaning; as Clive Barnes wrote: "When you leave the theatre, you may find that the finer points of Mummenschanz's performance have only just begun to register. Little Japanese paper flowers of suggestion have been tossed into the water and they open long after the curtain has fallen."

This single performance is today at 7pm in the Moore Theater.

Tickets for the performance are currently sold-out, but last-minute cancellations may create openings. Call the Hopkins Center Box Office for more information.
