Rusted Root, an up-and-coming alternative band, will bring its sound to the stage at Leede Arena on Oct. 26. It is currently the only act scheduled and confirmed to perform during Fall term by the Programming Board.
The band released a five-track album titled "Evil Ways" in July, including the songs "Evil Ways" from the movie "Home for the Holidays" and "Virtual Reality" from the movie "Twister."
Kristin Canavan '97, co-chair of the Programming Board, said the Programming Board coordinates search efforts for potential bands with an agent in Boston. The agent is familiar with the types of bands that appeal to Dartmouth students.
Several other factors determine whether a band will be able to play at the College, such as the availability of Leede Arena, the band's tour dates and performance locations.
"We're expecting it to be a successful concert," Canavan said.
She added that the Programming Board tries to get about two acts a term.
"We are working on lining something else up," Canavan said.
