Panel focuses on exclusivity in the Greek system

Over 100 students gathered in Collis Common Ground to discuss, criticize and defend Greek life at Dartmouth last night. The event, a student panel and discussion titled “Exclusivity in the Greek System,” was hosted by Sigma Delta, Chi Delta and Epsilon Kappa Theta sororities and co-sponsored by the Panhellenic Council, Greek Leadership Council and the Office of Pluralism and Leadership.

Palaeopitus Senior Society hosts ‘Reflections on Race’

Identity, campus racism and Dartmouth’s legacy of slavery were all up for discussion at “Reflections on Race,” a student panel and dinner discussion held Monday night in Dartmouth Hall. The event, organized by Palaeopitus Senior Society and a number of co-sponsoring academic departments and student groups, was attended by over 100 students.

Geovanni Cuevas '14 alleges assault by Brown University security officer

Geovanni Cuevas ’14 said that he was assaulted by a Brown University Department of Public Safety officer while representing Dartmouth as a senior delegate at the annual Latinx Ivy League Conference, hosted this weekend by Brown. The incident took place just after midnight on Saturday morning at a party hosted by Brown’s Machado house, a space for students interested in Spanish language and Hispanic culture.

Students share stories of identity at VoX performance

After two runs as part of V-February in 2014 and 2015, the original student performance “Voices” returned to campus as “VoX: Voices of Summer” on Monday in Collis Common Ground. The production, sponsored by the Center for Gender and Student Engagement, featured a series of monologues and poetry written and performed by members of the class of 2017 on topics ranging from racial identity and feminism to body image, mental health and personal relationships.
