So, straight up: I don’t know how to drive and I wasn’t on campus last term. Those two facts combined make me probably one of the least prepared and least desperate Dartmouth students to travel somewhere, anywhere. But a few weeks in Hanover is plenty of time to start developing cabin fever again, so I wanted The Mirror writers to give me (and the rest of you) some ideas on how to get away.

Because it’s Winter term probably a lot of you are already away from campus, so we’re getting off-campus updates from Emily Hirshey on her off-term in New York and news from Lauren Rosenbaum in Nairobi.

It can be hard to break out of the campus bubble — I’ve packed my passport every term for a potential trip in Montreal, but after three years I’ve never yet managed to make the trip. Maybe this term I’ll switch it up and make it a point to get to Quebec City. You know how it goes: if you keep failing to reach a target, change the goal, not yourself.
