Shannon Prince ‘09 performs during the Women’s Fancy Shawl competition on Saturday. Participants in the competition – excluding the Dartmouth students, who were ineligible to win prizes – were judged on their technique as they danced with traditional shawls.

The Native Americans at Dartmouth honored College President James Wright his wife, Susan, on Saturday afternoon. The Wrights walk alongside Jiles Pourier ‘08 and Eliza Yellow Bird ‘09.

The Dartmouth student drum group, Occom Pond Singers, performs on Sunday in Thompson Arena. The event was moved to Thompson Arena due to the weather.

Pourier and Yellow Bird, the Head Man and Head Woman of the pow-wow, dance on Sunday afternoon in Thompson Arena.

Louise Erdich ‘76, mother of Aza Erdrich Dorris ‘11 and this year’s Commencement speaker, honored mothers at the pow-wow with a short speech, followed by an honor song.

Yellow Bird recognizes the youngest dancer in the Girls Fancy category.
