As the term winds down, many of us can't wait for the chance to escape the snow and head south. However, each spring break, a select few decide to be a bit more productive ...

While the best of you are out there saving the world, I'm saving my sanity, curled up with my trusty dog Peanut, watching a season's worth of "Big Love" that DarTV fails to provide for me. My freshman year my only thought for spring break was going home to see my friends. When I reconsidered sophomore year, I realized that the coolest alternative spring break trips were all to my hometown... so what was the point? I did spend a night on Bourbon St. showing some ASB folks around town and getting my grind on in Utopia night club... thats a service, right? Once again this year I'll be returning home to New Orleans for warmer temperatures and water that's several degrees above polar bear swim levels.

Amita, on the other hand, has spent her past two spring breaks working on service projects in D.C. and New Orleans. Sadly, we didn't cross paths at Utopia ... the strobe lights were blinding. and I was too busy doing the cyclone. While Amita characterized her service experiences as "eye-opening" and "exciting," the fact that she's headed to Aruba this spring break to get her tan on shows the effect my presence has had on her for the past 10 weeks.

However you choose to spend this spring break, try to have a little time for relaxation before heading back to mud season in Hanover.
