Prof's art transforms common items

To most people, egg cartons, dry wall and aluminum honeycomb panels are nothing more than junk. In the hands of Dartmouth studio art professor Soo Sunny Park, however, these objects come to life. In Park's newest exhibit, which opened Tuesday in the Hopkins Center's Strauss Gallery, the room is her canvas and everyday materials her palette, interacting to form a space in which the observer turns into a participant. AS SEEN ON: Eighth "Idol" season back with a vengeance

Love it or hate it, "American Idol" is back. And this time, it's personal. Season eight of the annual singing competition, which premiered in a two-hour long episode on FOX Tuesday night, features the usual crazy locales and crazier people. "Idol" makes its return with a renewed ambition to be as sprightly and sassy as it was during the Kelly Clarkson days. More »
