Vox Clamantis: Proving The Point

I'm all for substanceless ad hominem argumentation every once and a while, but really Drew Lerman '10's comic ("The Still North," Nov. 19) did a remarkably good job at proving the point raised in my column ("Abstinence (Higher) Education," Nov.18).
In my article, I pleaded for a fair hearing of the arguments and evidence for abstinence, stating that students too often dismiss them off hand. Lerman displayed exactly the kind of knee-jerk, thoughtless, contemptuous attitude I was talking about in my column. Thank you, Drew Lerman, for putting it better than I could; I am eternally grateful.
