McCain rallies voters in last N.H. town hall

PETERBOROUGH -- Descending from his "Straight Talk Express" bus to strains of "Danger Zone," Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain and his entourage returned to New Hampshire on Sunday for a final town hall meeting before the Nov. 4 election. College negotiates cuts in budget

In the wake of the recent economic crisis, the College's budgetary committee has begun to consider ways to increase financial efficiency at Dartmouth. Strategies for reducing spending will be spread throughout the College's staff, and will not focus on decreasing the size of the administration, according to Adam Keller, executive vice president for finance and administration. Comedian Dratch '88 stumps for Obama

Actress Rachel Dratch '88 brought some of her Saturday Night Live humor to Hanover on Sunday afternoon, greeting volunteers from the Dartmouth College Democrats in the Hinman Forum of the Rockefeller Center. Dratch gave the volunteers a pep talk as they prepared their campaign efforts for Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama and former New Hampshire governor Jeanne Shaheen, the state's Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate. Community walks for suicide prevention

Kleenex rustled in the hands of community members, congregated on the Green to raise awareness about suicide prevention on Sunday morning. Some students wore stickers and signs with pictures and messages commemorating victims of suicide around their necks. The group of about 200 participants was overwhelmingly comprised by Dartmouth students, many of them walking in memory of Katie Cullinan '08, who took her own life last August. More »
