Greek houses extend bids at close of rush

Fall fraternity and sorority rush came to a close this week, as 273 women were offered bids and 308 men sunk bids from single-sex Greek organizations. Participation in both men's and women's rush increased this term. More »

Physicist explains Sun's magnetism felt on Earth

Barbara Thompson, a solar physicist for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, outlined variations in the Sun's magnetic field and described how scientists analyze such changes and their effects on the Eart in a speech Tuesday night in Wilder Hall. The lecture, titled "Living with a Star: Our Dynamic Sun and Its Impact on Near-Earth Space," is the first in the physics and astronomy department's annual public lecture series, and drew an audience of about 40 Dartmouth community members. SA funds student-faculty programming, football tailgate

Student Assembly passed legislation to provide up to $1,000 for the student-faculty programming fund at the weekly meeting of the General Assembly Tuesday evening.
