The Grafton County Superior Court has approved the dismissal of the Association of Alumni's lawsuit against the College, Association President John Mathias '69 confirmed today. This action brings to an end the eight-month legal saga in which the Association attempted to bar the College's Board of Trustees from adding eight members not elected by alumni to its membership.

The withdrawal of the lawsuit follows the recent Association executive committee election in which candidates critical of the suit swept all 11 of the committee's seats.

The Dartmouth has been unable to confirm when the Board will move to discontinue the "freeze" on changes to its membership, a move made on June 7 in response to the lawsuit, and add the eight additional trustees.
