Liz Vaughan ‘08 triumphs in first ever Dartmouth Idol

Spaulding Auditorium hosted the finale of the unprecedented “Dartmouth Idol” on March 6, and I have to say that the show left me sorely disappointed — in one regard. Where were all the tone-deaf, deluded nobodies who wouldn’t even be able to make the cut at a karaoke bar? MGMT’s debut surpasses hype, band to visit Dartmouth

In our brave new digital world, music news can get broken — and swept away — before a band has even released a full-length album. With the advent of musical outlets like My Space and Hypemachine, new music has become more accessible and proportionately more disposable.
