Mystery continues to surround the death of 22-year-old Eve Carlson, student body president of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Carlson was found dead a half mile from campus Wednesday morning. Police confirmed Thursday that her body was found with multiple gunshot wounds a mile from her potentially stolen car, according to local Raleigh news station WRAL. No suspects or motives have been identified. A premed major studying biology and political science, Carlson attended UNC on the Morehead-Cain Scholarship, which paid for her education and funded service trips abroad each summer. Friends and campus administrators remembered her as an engaged, altruistic and talented community member who would be missed, according to WRAL.
