Students who are not admitted to Spring term courses will now be able to view on Banner Student how close they came to making the cut. For the first time, the Office of the Registrar has posted course enrollment priorities on the student web site.

A confusing jumble of broken images and distorted text has confronted some students when trying to access Facebook profiles or read the news online. A number of Mac users have recently reported that their computers do not properly display pictures and other formatting on some web pages when they use the Mozilla Firefox web browser. Using Safari, another browser, to view web sites often remedied the issue, students said.

Elaborating upon the expectations of a senior thesis in Dartmouth’s music major, Katharine Blumenthal ‘06 followed her studies to the remote hills of Ladakh, in northeastern India. There, in the district of Leh, she found Islamic Beda musicians trapped in an oppressive caste system, she said.

The limits of “weird and freaky” sex intersected with doctrines of religious faith at a panel discussion hosted by Dartmouth’s Multi-Faith Council on Wednesday night. The group organized the panel, titled “Faith and Sexuality,” to enable discussion between students and Hindu, Christian and Muslim leaders.

A group of Dartmouth researchers published the first scientific evidence linking a specific surgery with relief of lower back pain caused by spinal stenosis. The study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine on Feb. 21.
