Crady backs liberal alcohol policy

Hanover High scandal divides Dresden board

The Dresden School Board, which oversees public schools in the town of Hanover, has seen a number of internal changes in the wake of the recent cheating scandal at Hanover High School, according to Stanton Williams, the board's acting chairman. The board is currently divided on the school's decision to take legal action against the students implicated in the crime, said Robert Bruce, the board's former chairman, who resigned on Jan. 8. Miranda '01 leads highly- ranked charter high school

Every morning at 7:45 a.m., high school principal Jorge Miranda '01 stands at the doors of the Media and Technology Charter High School in Boston, Mass., and personally greets his 220 students. Before allowing students to enter the building, Miranda asks each of them "Why are you here?" to which they respond "to learn." He then asks: "What will learning take?" which garners the response "courage, discipline and perseverance." More »

Professors collaborate on poetry translations

But Dartmouth professors Ana Merino and Elizabeth Polli, friends and colleagues in the Spanish department, have developed a close personal relationship while producing an English translation of Merino's fifth book of poetry, "Cell Mate."
