Chocolate Drops, Freight Train join forces in Hop fiddlefest
Tonight’s double-feature at the Hopkins Center will include the Virginia-based quintet Old School Freight Train and the African-American string band the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Both groups play forms of traditional music with deep ties to the regions in which they developed — music that, by today’s standards, is decidedly not mainstream.
