Just as “big boned” is a cliched way of saying overweight, “Big Boned” is a cliched excuse for a book. “Big Boned,” Meg Cabot’s unoriginal latest entry to the bloated chick lit genre, features a heroine with a larger waist size, yet is paradoxically slim on actual substance. Marketed as an adult novel because — cover your ears thirteen-year-olds — the characters now actually have sex, the storyline of “Big Boned” is not appropriate for anyone whose age transcends the single digits.
