‘Lions for Lambs’ wastes talent, bores with blather
Well, it has finally happened: Hollywood has taken all of our nation’s pain and anguish and turned it into an infomercial. Never have I encountered such a smug, self-righteous propaganda piece as “Lions for Lambs.” The film attempts an ambitious dissection of post-9/11 politics, but operates with such mind-numbing condescension that it invokes only frustration and spite. As a political thriller, “Lions for Lambs” is preachy, boring and exploitative; as an indictment of American militarism, it’s a squandered opportunity of catastrophic proportions. More »
