To the Editor:

Why does John E. Sununu continue to ignore logic and defy reason ("Prof. Jay Buckey enters Senate race," Jun. 22)? Last week, Sununu voted to block an important amendment to the Senate energy bill, which would allot $32 billion in tax breaks to fund research and development of renewable energy. He did this because he is unwilling to raise taxes on the enormous oil companies, as that is how some of the tax cuts would be funded. Sununu needs to get his priorities straight. He is representing not the major oil corporations, but the people and environment of New Hampshire. That is why I will vote for Katrina Swett in this upcoming election, rather than keep this misdirected senator in office.
