To the Editor:

As a member of Dartmouth Students for Barack Obama, I would like to clarify several points which I feel were not accurately presented in the May 21 article "Campaign canvassers pound the pavement." The article mentioned the canvassing activities of several other presidential candidates.

It is important to note, however, that the May 19 Obama canvass was not a small, isolated event at Dartmouth. Rather, it was part of one of the largest state-wide door-to-door campaigns in New Hampshire's history. None of the other candidates mentioned in the article have conducted such an event -- either at Dartmouth or in New Hampshire at large. That fact, I feel, was not entirely clear in The Dartmouth's coverage.
