Green elected student president

Travis Green ‘08 won a close but decisive victory in the race for Student Body President on Tuesday night, defeating the four other candidates throughout eleven rounds of instant runoff voting. Class of 2011 sees higher yield, greater diversity

A successful Dimensions weekend is credited with contributing to an unusually high yield for the Class of 2011, the Office of Admissions said. Out of 2,167 students admitted, 1,153 accepted the offers, marking an increase in yield from approximately 50 percent last year to 53 percent for the Class of 2011. More »

Pride week nets $27,000 in donations

In just four months, Jamal Brown ‘08 and other members of the PRIDE 2007 planning committee have raised $27,830.20 for Dartmouth’s first ever Pride week, which began on Monday. The money for PRIDE 2007 came from a myriad sources, ranging from the Committee on Student Organizations to alumni donors, and included a last-minute addition from the Student Assembly. More »

After brief debate, town tables pot bill

Hanover residents tabled medicinal marijuana legislation after 10 minutes of discussion on the topic at the annual town meeting held Tuesday night in the Richmond Middle School gymnasium. May 1, 7:58 p.m., Greensboro Road A local resident complained that there was a huge party at a location near a baseball field that is commonly referred to as “shed number two.” When officers arrived on the scene, nobody was present and all trash was in the receptacles, leading police to believe that a few ballplayers had a get-together after a game.
