Better than B-side: Dartmouth club teams finish up strong

As the school years of other New England colleges come to a close, Dartmouth club sports teams are wrapping up their seasons. Men’s and women’s ultimate frisbee competed in regional championships this past weekend, men’s and women’s club lacrosse both finished respectable playoff runs, men’s and women’s rugby continue to practice and play local club teams, men’s and women’s soccer fight to get recognized and gain field space, men’s tennis is competing with area high schools and the cricket club is taking on its number one rival next weekend. Men’s rugby loses at home to Mystic River Men’s Club

On Saturday, the Dartmouth Rugby Football Club first XV side finished its spring season with a 24-12 loss at home to the Mystic River Men’s Club, one of the better first division men’s squads in the Northeast. The defeat for the Big Green comes after spring losses to Boston College, 34-13, and the University of New Brunswick, and a win over Norwich University, 43-10. More »

Men’s lax falls to Harvard, 13-9, to close out losing season

The Dartmouth men’s lacrosse team lost its season finale to Harvard 13-9 on Saturday in a night game that was a fitting end to the Big Green’s 2007 season. Dartmouth appeared to be evenly matched with the Crimson in settled situations on both sides of the field, but accumulated mistakes pushed the Big Green behind by an irreversible margin. More »

I’ll admit, if you had asked me only a matter of years ago, I would have told you that baseball was most assuredly America’s game. In hindsight, I’m ashamed of my youthful lapse in judgment.
