Doctor discusses climate change

As snow drifted down outside Moore Hall Thursday evening, Dr. Paul Epstein, an expert on the intersection between public health and climate change, lectured on the dangers of hotter weather to a packed crowd inside in Filene Auditorium. Epstein, the associate director of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School, documented the "pain" global warming has already inflicted on inhabitants of a heating earth. Yale's tenure changes now closer to College's

When Yale University decided last week to revamp its tenure and appointment policy in an effort to become more competitive in recruiting and retaining faculty, it shifted its strategy closer to plans of comparable institutions -- including Dartmouth. The new policy provides junior faculty more resources during the tenure process, a departure from a policy that Yale found to put the university at a competitive disadvantage in attracting qualified professors.
