TV watchers to face $300 box fee

Famed philosopher talks critical thought

Renowned French philosopher Jacques Ranciere presented a speech critiquing modern critical thinking to Dartmouth students and professors on Thursday. After the lecture in the Haldeman Center, attendees engaged the tweed-clad philosopher in a 25-minute question-and-answer session about topics ranging from ignorance to propaganda to the Bush administration’s use of the media. Admin. surveys campus on broad range of issues

Beginning Friday, all enrolled undergraduate Dartmouth students will be asked to fill out the Enrolled Student Survey, a 25-minute online questionnaire to be conducted at 31 colleges and universities. Questions cover topics ranging from how often students talk to their parents or guardians to their level of alcohol consumption. More »

Students sign up for ‘Hanover FSP’

With Spring term well underway, Haley Morris ‘08 is troubled by one aspect of her Dartmouth life: She can’t get into residence halls. Morris, along with Lindsay Greenberg ‘08, are spending their off-terms running a college preparatory program at Mascoma Valley High School. Because Morris is not currently enrolled in classes at the College and lives off campus, her Dartmouth Card no longer acts as a key. More »
