Skiers plow through competition at home Carnival

“You are witnessing pure greatness,” called the announcer, surprised, as the first racers in the women’s 15k classic already came into view, swinging around the field and through the finish on their way to a second loop in the woods. Women’s basketball throttles Ivy league competition

In a weekend whose buzz mostly centered around ex-Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher’s appearance at the Dartmouth women’s basketball game, the Big Green women hoopsters deserve credit for absolutely clobbering both of its Ivy opponents. On Friday night, the Big Green dismantled the visiting Penn Quakers by a score of 70-43 and then bested the Princeton Lady Tigers 75-46 on Saturday. More »

Women’s hockey whacks Colgate, Columbia over Carnival

The Dartmouth women’s hockey team missed Winter Carnival but enjoyed a pair of blowout victories, going on the road to beat Colgate 5-1 on Friday, Feb. 9 and Cornell 7-0 the following day. The victories extend No. 3 Dartmouth’s winning streak to seven games and keeps the Big Green perched atop the ECACHL standings with a six-point lead heading into the final week of the regular season. Dartmouth men’s basketball split its Ivy League weekend, falling to University of Pennsylvania 73-53 on Friday and beating Princeton 45-44 in the final seconds on Saturday night. More »

Men’s hockey drops Quinnipiac, falls to Princeton
