Not even the freezing cold could stop the Dartmouth ski team’s hot streak this season. The Big Green remained undefeated on the season by overwhelming the competition at the University of New Hampshire Winter Carnival, despite frigid temperatures that forced the nordic events to be delayed.

The Dartmouth men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed in the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27. There were no team scores at this meet, but it was an opportunity for the Big Green athletes to face good competition, improve times and distances and to qualify for championship meets.

The Dartmouth men’s hockey team stumbled in its return to its ECACHL schedule, the team’s first league action since Saturday, Jan. 6. The Big Green blew a two-goal lead late in the third period in a 4-4 tie with No. 10 Clarkson in Potsdam, N.Y., on Friday night, before suffering a 4-1 loss to No. 17 St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y., on Saturday evening.

Dartmouth’s women’s tennis team notched a significant victory over their top rival Boston College on Saturday, Jan. 27. On its home court, the Alexis Boss Tennis Center, the Big Green won 4-3 and had retribution for the squad’s 0-7 landslide last year to the Eagles.

The Big Green, ranked third nationally, completed a two-week home stand in impressive form this weekend. Dartmouth earned a convincing 4-1 win over Clarkson on Friday and followed that performance with a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory after a rousing comeback over No. 6 St. Lawrence. The victories were crucial in separating the Big Green from its conference rivals. With these two conference victories, Dartmouth now takes a commanding four-point lead in the ECACHL.
