To the Editor:

Most of the discussion on the alumni constitution has spun off into name-calling and side issues. Let's focus on an important question: What is the right role for the alumni in its relationship with the College? Whether the new constitution is approved or rejected, the result will not matter unless this question is answered.

Not only do the alumni need to sort out their various positions on this question, the College needs to state unequivocally what its position is. Let's do something productive after the voting period and let the students know we're not all crazy.
