Senior rescues ‘chipwiches’ at Homeplate

During Winter term, Mike Rosenzweig ‘06 realized that something important was missing from his Dartmouth experience. The chipwiches had disappeared from Homeplate. Rosenzweig, a big fan of the dessert, which consists of two chocolate chip cookies with frozen yogurt in the middle, started asking the cashier when the chipwiches were going to come back. More »

Daniell highlights Native American history at College

While many students are unaware that part of their jogging route is named for a member of the Mohegan tribe who lived during the 18th century, the lecture that College historian and former history professor Jere Daniell ‘55 gave Tuesday in Dartmouth Hall aimed to elucidate that and other contributions that Native Americans have made to Dartmouth. Ochieng brothers launch health clinic in Kenya

When Milton Ochieng ‘04 and Fred Ochieng ‘05 left their small village of Lwala, Kenya for a private high school near Nairobi, they were struck by the comparative lack of health care in their hometown. After graduating and receiving the Lombard Post-Grad Fellowship from the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding, Fred returned home to Lwala in the summer of 2005 with five Dartmouth students and alumni where he was soon reminded of the region’s health care problems.
