Dartmouth College prides itself on being an academic institution and strictly prohibits any form of violence. Under Standard I of the Standards of Conduct listed in the Student Handbook states that “Students and student organizations must not engage in behavior which causes or threatens physical harm to another person.” However, on Saturday night in Leede Arena the rules did not apply, and members of the Dartmouth Boxing Club squared off in the ring against each other and fighters from local clubs in Dartmouth’s second annual Fight Night.

The Dartmouth men’s lacrosse team outlasted Harvard in a war of attrition on Saturday. Pitted against a top-notch team in front of 1,300 Crimson fans, the Big Green’s seniors rose to the occasion and laid the groundwork for a triumphant departure. It was the team’s freshmen, however, who pushed the Big Green men’s lacrosse team over the edge to victory, as Dartmouth outlasted Harvard 14-13 in triple overtime.

Damon Wright and Michael Jordan have a lot in common. They are both are adept at two-sports (baseball and basketball) and both favor Gatorade over Powerade. Jordan, at 210 pounds in his prime, was five pounds larger than Wright is now at 205 pounds. Jordan also happens to be Wright’s favorite player.

Only two days after naming the 2006 co-captains, Dartmouth’s women’s soccer opened its spring season. On May 6, the girls faced a mixed team of the Boston Renegades’ first team and their U-19 feeder program. After playing three 45-minute parts, the Big Green came out 7-3 winners, starting their spring encounters in style.
