Male throws brick through BG window

A confrontation outside Bones Gate fraternity early Sunday morning resulted in a man throwing a brick through a window on the first-floor of the house, as well as the intervention of the Hanover Police department and Safety and Security. The suspect male is not affiliated with Dartmouth, according to College Proctor Harry Kinne.
A group of approximately 10 males not connected with the College was asked to leave Bones Gate's Saturday night party due "inappropriate" behavior. The men -- whom Kinne could only describe as older than high school age -- became belligerent while exiting the party and punched several attendees.
One of the men then threw a brick through a window of the house, though it is unclear as to when or how he obtained the brick. Members of Bones Gate began to fight the men and used a blue light phone to contact Safety and Security as well as Hanover Police.
The fight then spilled out into the fraternity's parking lot. Bones Gate members managed to subdue two of the men, but most of the men had fled by the time Hanover Police and Safety and Security arrived. According to Hanover Police Chief Nicholas Giaccone, one Bones Gate member tackled the man who had thrown the brick through the window as he was running away.
Though no one was seriously injured in the tussle and Bones Gate members declined to press charges, Hanover Police and Safety and Security officers took statements from all parties involved and restrained the two remaining men.
Kinne said that the intoxicated male who threw the brick did not resist when officers placed him in handcuffs because he realized that he had made an "error in judgement".
"It goes to show you that certainly incidents can occur anyplace," Kinne said. "When people are asked to lead a party it can result in unforeseeable problems."
Members of Bones Gate fraternity declined to comment on the incident.
