Dartmouth athletics ranked first in the Ivy League

The release of the 2005-2006 U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings provides quantitative data to answer the oft-argued question, “Which Ivy League school has the best athletic teams?” While athletic juggernauts Notre Dame and Penn State sit atop the Director’s Cup list after the fall season, Dartmouth ranks 34th among Division-I schools, highest among Ivy League programs. Yale and Princeton rank 53rd and 67th, respectively. No other Ivies made the list that was released last month. More »

Women’s squash bested by Ivy rivals Princeton, Penn

Dartmouth’s No. 2-ranked player Julia Drury ‘06 found herself in a hole on Saturday afternoon against the Princeton Tigers. She trailed her opponent Casey Riley by two games in the second-to-last home match of her collegiate career. She also found herself at the No. 2 position after having played at No. 1 most of the season. However, Drury still managed to pull herself from the brink of defeat and down Riley in five games. More »
