The Dartmouth men's club volleyball team began its divisionals season Saturday at Northeastern University with matches against the University of New Hamsphire, Northeastern and the University of Vermont.

After a disappointing 25-18, 25-20 loss to in-state rival UNH, the Big Green improved its play in a hard-fought 25-20, 25-20 loss to a talented Northeastern squad on its home court.

Dartmouth concluded the afternoon competition on a positive note, downing a scrappy Vermont Catamounts team 25-21, 25-23.

The Big Green received strong performances throughout the day from outside hitter/middle blocker David Ansdell '06, rookie outside hitter Eric Lauritsen '09 and outside hitter Adam Wilk '06.

Veteran libero Nathan Zwintscher '03 also put forth a solid defensive effort that included a game-saving dig on the winning point against UVM with the Catamounts threatening to tie the game at 24.

The Big Green returns to action in Interdivisional competition next weekend at Yale University.
