Bascom’s swan song defies standard senior fellowship

Wearing a bright orange tank top with “A-57” written in black Sharpie across the front, a skirt made out of a crazy fabric and a contagious smile, my DOC first-year trip leader, A.J. Bascom ‘06, looked like some sort of rock star. But as he taught us the Dartmouth Alma Mater on our way to a peak, I noticed he was hitting the notes suspiciously well and that his likeness to a rock star might go beyond his attire and his name. It took a lot of prying to find out that he was the director of the a cappella group, the Aires, and even more to find out that he was selected to be a Senior Fellow, among the best of the best. Women’s tennis aces Big East opponent for second win

After being shut out 7-0 last week against the University of Connecticut, the Dartmouth women’s tennis team showed Sunday that it can take down a Big East competitor. The Big Green (2-1) bounced back with an impressive 5-2 win over Syracuse at the Boss Tennis Center. More »
